Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Nashat Mubarak Sliwa, President of Al-Hamdaniya University, and under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Ahlam Dara Aziz, Director of the Continuing Education Center, the Center, in cooperation with the Central Library, organized a workshop entitled *”Baghdad: Capital of Arab Tourism.”* 

The workshop featured presentations by:

– Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Talal Hazem – Continuing Education Center  

– Assistant Lecturer Ghareeb Jirjan Shareef – Continuing Education Center  

– Assistant Lecturer Shahad Saad Salem – Central Library  

The workshop aimed to highlight the historical and cultural significance of Baghdad and explore its tourist landmarks, particularly in light of its designation as the Capital of Arab Tourism. It also discussed the challenges and opportunities facing the tourism sector in promoting sustainable development.

Topics included an analysis of the geographical and historical factors behind Baghdad’s selection, the strategic advantages that established it as a cultural hub through the ages, and an overview of major archaeological and heritage landmarks that reflect Baghdad’s deep-rooted history.
