University Council Secretariat
The University Council Secretariat is an administrative division that reports directly to the President of the University. It is considered one of the key and highly sensitive positions, requiring its staff to maintain utmost integrity and confidentiality. The Secretariat is responsible for obtaining approvals on matters that fall outside the jurisdiction of the University President, whether they fall within the authorities of the University Council or the Ministry of Higher Education.
The University Council Secretariat is tasked with preparing the agendas for the University Council meetings, documenting the Council’s resolutions, and subsequently drafting the minutes of the meetings to be submitted to the Ministry for ratification. Furthermore, it circulates the Council’s ratified resolutions to all university departments and subdivisions, monitoring the execution of these resolutions once ministerial approval is obtained. Additionally, the division works on obtaining the University President’s approval on the minutes of the various College Councils, returning the approved minutes back to the respective colleges, and tracking the implementation of their items.
