Lecturer Hiba Mohammed Mahmoud Earns PhD in Arabic Literature from the University of Mosul

Lecturer Hiba Mohammed Mahmoud has been awarded a PhD in Arabic Literature from the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Mosul. Her dissertation was titled: “Metaphor and Worldview: A Study of Diwan al-Hamasah by Abu Tammam al-Ta’i (d. 231 AH).”

The dissertation, supervised by Professor Dr. Mohammed Jassim Jabbara, explored the concepts of metaphor and vision among Western philosophers, as well as themes of understanding, interpretation, similarity, and worldview. Furthermore, the study examined the semiotics of metaphorical expression.

The achievement of Dr. Hiba Mohammed Mahmoud reflects Al-Hamdaniya University’s ongoing commitment to supporting its faculty members in fulfilling their academic requirements.
