Continuing the series of scientific achievements by our university’s researchers, a team has successfully registered five new genetic variants (genotypes) from kidney cancer patients in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) database. This pioneering step contributes to advancing studies related to treatment and early diagnosis.

This scientific milestone was achieved by Assist. Lect. Raya Khalid Yousif and Assist. Lect. Wissam Albert Nooh, with the registration of the following genotypes:

  • PX803868
  • PX803869
  • PX803870
  • PX803871
  • PX803872

This achievement represents a significant leap in scientific research, as it provides official international documentation of rigorous research data within one of the world’s most prestigious databases for biological sciences and biotechnology. Furthermore, this work enhances our university’s global scientific presence, supports the trajectory of excellence in research, and opens broader horizons for research collaboration and knowledge exchange with international institutions.

The registration of these human isolates related to renal cancer serves as a high-quality scientific addition that supports genetic and medical oncology studies. It provides reference data that researchers worldwide can utilize to deepen the scientific understanding of disease mechanisms and develop new pathways for diagnosis and treatment.
