Coordination and Monitoring Unit

The Coordination and Monitoring Unit was established within the organizational structure of the Presidency of the University of Al-Hamdaniya. It is administratively linked to the University President and technically linked to the Joint Coordination and Monitoring Center Division at the Ministry of Higher Education, Minister’s Office. This unit was established to coordinate crisis management and ensure an effective and timely response through systematically planned and coordinated humanitarian interventions.

Vision: To be a leading university-level center in the field of coordination and emergency management by providing high-quality services and utilizing the latest global technologies and practices to enhance readiness and rapid, effective response to all types of emergencies and crises.

Mission: The Coordination and Monitoring Unit is committed to providing unparalleled support in coordination and monitoring among various stakeholders by providing accurate and real-time information and coordinating efforts between all parties to ensure an effective and rapid response, contributing to the protection of society and the environment from the impacts of crises and emergencies.

Goals: The goal of establishing the Coordination and Monitoring Unit is to enhance cooperation and integration among various stakeholders to ensure an effective and rapid response to emergencies and crises, and to provide accurate and up-to-date information to decision-makers, thereby contributing to the protection of lives and property and achieving stability and security.

Importance of the Unit:

Reducing disasters and crises through an organized (methodological) work mechanism across all formations of the University of Al-Hamdaniya.
Analyzing risks and crises based on the assessment of the probability and severity of the hazard.
Applying the methodology for preparing precautionary plans adopted by the Joint Coordination and Monitoring Center.
Increasing community awareness through workshops and training courses.

Tasks Performed by the Unit:

Acting as a liaison between the University of Al-Hamdaniya and the Coordination and Monitoring Unit Division at the Ministry.
Organizing workshops, courses, and discussion sessions based on international experiences in risk management and increasing awareness within the campus, targeting all university categories including students, staff, and professors.
Forming task forces and support committees consisting of experts in the field of managing potential risks on campus and preparing action plans for crisis management. Identifying, classifying, and assessing the probability and severity of risks is the first step in mitigating negative impacts after building robust precautionary plans.
Developing plans to confront potential crises and disasters within the university campus.
