The College of Education for Human Sciences, Department of History, discussed a Master’s thesis examining Saudi policy in North Yemen during a public session held at the Theater Hall on Sunday morning, April 5, 2026.
The thesis, titled “The Policy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Toward North Yemen (1955–1990),” was submitted by the student Heba Zuhair Mahmoud Ismail in partial fulfillment of the requirements for a Master’s degree in Modern History.
The examination committee was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Hamza Hussein, with the participation of committee members Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Mohammed Mahmoud (from the University of Samarra) and Asst. Prof. Dr. Izdihar Muayyad Mal Allah, alongside Prof. Dr. Mohammed Dakhel Karim, who served as both a member and the thesis supervisor.
Following the student’s presentation and defense of her work, the committee approved the thesis for acceptance, emphasizing the necessity of incorporating the required revisions before finalizing the administrative procedures for the degree conferral.
The significance of this thesis lies in its analysis of a pivotal era in Riyadh’s policy toward North Yemen, which served as a fundamental element in the political and security stability of the Arabian Peninsula.
